Summer's here

The Beams came to visit over Memorial Day weekend.  It is always nice to have them around.

Bethany loves to play with her cousin.  As they get older it is so much fun to watch them play so well together.  Bethany has told me several times, "She is my best friend." It's the closest thing to a sister she will ever have so I'm glad they love each other.

Look at our bright and colorful meal:  shrimp, chicken and veggie kabobs on the grill, corn on the cob, and fresh cut fruit...yummy (except for the shrimp).

We did our last party with Bethany's play group.  They had so much fun this year.

We went to the Zoo with lots of discount tickets (you know me) with the Sheldons and Wesley brought Seth as well.

Totally amazing and disgusting snake, just grateful there was thick glass in between us.

One of their favorite things was the fish tank, go figure and Wesley hasn't changed much since he was little.  He still has to get his hands on everything.

Here's my athletic boy.  Isn't he handsome?

So excited to go swimming at our community pool.

Ken, my sister and Rhonda Sheldon threw me a big 40 birthday party.  It was a lot of work and turned out really fun!

David and Sara came to visit for a while and Bethany with all her bows just snuggled right up to her new Uncle. They also watched our kids for a night so Ken and I could go stay a night at the Four Seasons for my b-day and our belated Anniversary.

Whitney and her boyfriend Jon (we met him for the first time) also came to visit and Bethany snuggled right up with him as well.  She is such a flirt.  Whitney and Jon are now engaged and Bethany was not happy with it at first.  I asked her why and she said, "because I like Jon."  Oh no, we are in for some fun when she becomes a teenager. :)

We also celebrated my b-day at the Norman's house and all those candles was almost a fire hazard, but my pyro children loved it!

The whole crew, minus Gram who was taking the picture!

If you can believe it, I have enough air in me to blow all those candles out.  I hope my wish comes true!

We had the missionaries and a few families over for swimming, a BBQ and games for the 4th of July.  Don't worry the missionaries didn't swim.  We made some fun treats for dessert, thanks to Pinterest.

Again thanks to Pinterest, I was able to make Bethany's hair into a star for the 4th of July.  We went and watch fireworks in the driveway of our neighbors.  We only a little less than a mile away from where they launch them.  It is so nice, no crowds, no traffic and not too loud...perfect.
